"In April, 2021, I was working out with Joey as my trainer. One day he said, "Nancy, you're so strong, I think you should enter a powerlifting competition". I considered it and decided to give it a try. I started training 4 days a week (up from 2), with the goal of entering a competition in August. With Joey's guidance and encouragement, my training went very well. He insisted on proper form and good breathing technique. I gained strength and confidence under his tutelage. He was always concerned about how I felt and whether or not I thought it was too much for me. Mind you, I am not a young 20-something, but a woman in my mid-70's, so there was definitely risk of injury. He always stressed safety above all. I finished the competition with flying colors, achieving 2 personal records that day. Joey was with me all the way, coaching me and cheering me on. It was a great time in my life, and I will never forget the confidence Joey had in me."

“I’ve known Joey since 2018 during his time at Strong Box in Glen Ellyn. While I was a client of Strong Box, I was doing an individual design program and Joey was one of the floor coaches. I consistently received a ton of value from his demonstrations and ability to explain the mechanics of lifts and movements.
